About the Program

Activate your sponsorship career with SMCC! The SMCC Activate! Mentorship Program matches leaders in Canada’s sponsorship community with emerging business professionals to inspire and enable them to become the sponsorship leaders of tomorrow.

SMCC’s 2024 Activate! Mentorship Program has improved thanks to the feedback from past mentors and mentees. We recognize that it is more critical now than ever to have support and guidance through mentorship as sponsorship marketing continues to evolve and new career opportunities present themselves for the next generations of industry professionals. We want to help you in your journey by connecting you with world class leaders in the industry.

Selected mentees have the opportunity to interact with mentors, both informally and at SMCC organized virtual events. We heard you loud and clear and are also now incorporating mentorship workshops for all to attend!

Program Criteria

Mentee Eligibility

To be selected as an Activate! Mentorship Program Mentee, you must:

Have at least 2 years experience in the sponsorship marketing industry.
Exhibit a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Provide a letter of recommendation.
Provide a maximum 60 second elevator pitch video explaining why you would like to be a part of this program.

Mentor Eligibility

To be selected as an Activate! Mentorship Program Mentor, you must:

Have at least 10+ years of experience in the sponsorship marketing industry.
Have a strong commitment to fostering professional development and support new industry leaders.
Commitment to meet at least once monthly for the duration of 12 months.
